West Virginia Bill Proposes Interactive Gaming Expansion

Third time lucky?

West Virginia Representative Shawn Fluharty has introduced an expansion bill to add interactive gaming to last year’s legalised sports betting sector in the State. This would be the third time an online poker and casino games proposal has passed through the legislature.

HB2178 proposes a gross gaming revenue tax rate of 14 percent and a $50,000 license fee with all operations overseen by the West Virginia Lottery Commission.

License applications would be accepted from any or all of the five existing gaming facilities in West Virginia, Mardi Gras Casino and Resort, The Casino Club at The Greenbrier, Wheeling Island Hotel, Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races and Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack and Resort.
