33-year-old cash game pro, Anthony Marquez, has emerged victorious in Event 16, the $1,500 Six-Max No-Limit Hold’em.
This is only Marquez’ second WSOP cash and his first WSOP bracelet and were well earned after he defeated a huge 1,708-player field to win $393,273 after defeating Demoesthenes Kiriopoulos heads-up.
On his focus from cash games to tournaments, Marquez said: “Honestly, the games at Commerce dried up. I had no other option. I had to pick up a new game, start learning and get better.”

Racener outplayed a field of 102 making short work of Viacheslav Zhukov in heads play when he dispatched him in just one hand for the title and $273,962 in prize money.
“I always said to myself that I wanted to win my first bracelet for my mom,” Racener said. “She’s always been my biggest fan, and she still is from up above.”
