WSOP Review - World Series Of Poker - US Licensed
"WSOP is the first bona fide US licensed poker room listed at Casinomeister."
Desktop and Mobile Gaming
WSOP Casino allows you to access the online poker games in two ways. The first, and the recommended way of playing at WSOP Casino, is to use their downloadable poker software client. This is available free of charge and can be installed on all Windows and MacOS devices – including computers and desktop computers. WSOP Casino’s website automatically detects which device you’re accessing the website from so that you’ll be prompted to download the right poker software client automatically.
Interestingly, WSOP Casino’s poker client was developed by 888 – and while we have our issues with 888 and how they run their online gambling platforms – their development team is solid. It has done a great job with WSOP Casino’s poker software. This ensures that you’re able to enjoy a sense of professionalism with a poker client that’s easy-to-use, easy-to-navigate and user-friendly.
It’s easy to download and install the software from WSOP Casino. Once you’ve downloaded the installation files, you’ll be prompted to install the WSOP software. Once successfully installed on your computer or laptop, you can then login to your existing WSOP Casino account or sign-up and register if you’re a new player.
If you don’t want to download or install any software, WSOP Casino also allows you to play in their online poker rooms directly through your internet browser. Playing this way doesn’t require you to download or install any software, and it’s an ideal choice for those who want to play some quick poker games every now and then without downloading anything onto their computer.
During the writing of this review, we found both the downloadable software client and the internet browser version of the poker room to be easy-to-use, easy-to-navigate, and user-friendly. The loading speeds are great; however, as with any online poker, be sure that your internet connection is reliable so you don’t get cut off mid-hand.
WSOP.com is the most popular regulated online poker room in the United States. The brand operates in Nevada and New Jersey, while Delaware players access it through the state’s racino websites. These are the only three states in the US that have legalized and regulated online poker.
The WSOP, short for The World Series of Poker, is one of the best-known gambling corporations in the world. It is responsible for hosting prestigious poker events worldwide, most notably the Main Event, which takes place in Las Vegas and sees a prize pool worth tens of millions of dollars.
While this review focuses on the WSOP casino, we’ll also look at the poker site WSOP Casino offers – as players who are signed up to one can access the other. To kick things off, let’s take a look at some of the bonuses and promotions you can expect to find when you join this global poker platform/casino.
Bonuses and Promotions
WSOP Casino offers various bonuses and promotions, including ones tailored specifically to their online casino and their online poker facility. Below, we will take a look at some of the main bonuses and promotions you’ll find on offer at the casino – starting with a look at the main welcome bonus for new customers.
WSOP.com offers new players a 100% first deposit bonus up to $400. It clears at a rate of $1 for every $5 in rake paid at cash games, sit-and-gos, and tournaments. The bonus released in $5 increments. Players have 90 days to clear the bonus. Monthly reload bonuses are offered with the same terms and conditions. This is the welcome bonus designed for use in the online poker room.
You’ll also find that the online casino offers a welcome bonus designed for players to use in their online casino, details of which you can find on the ‘bonuses and promotions page on their website.
No-Deposit & Free Spins Offers
At the time of writing, WSOP Casino doesn’t offer any no-deposit bonuses or no deposit free spins to players. However, they occasionally run no-deposit promotions for their online poker room, and if they start to offer such bonuses and promotions again, we’ll update this World Series of Poker Casino review to reflect the new bonuses and promotions.
Action Club VIP Program
The VIP program at WSOP.com is called Action Club. Nevada and New Jersey have different programs because the tax rate in Nevada is less than half what it is in New Jersey. WSOP.com passes some of that tax burden to New Jersey customers.
Both states offer weekly freerolls to players that generate at least $2 in rake. Rewards are paid back in cash as a percentage of the rake paid, which is called rakeback. All cash games, sit-and-gos, and multi-table tournaments qualify. Cash is returned through the VIP tab in the WSOP.com software. The minimum is $10.
Nevada Action Club Rakeback
Tier/Monthly Rake Required/Rakeback Percent
There are three tiers based on annual rake paid. Players keep these tiers for the current year and the next one when obtained. These levels are nearly impossible to obtain.
Tier/Annual Rake Required/Rakeback Percent
- Super Elite/$125,000/25%
- Seven Stars/$200,000/35%
New Jersey Action Club Rakeback
Tier/Monthly Rake Required/Rakeback Percent
- Silver Plus/$15/3%
- Gold Plus/$400/5%
- Platinum Plus/$1,200/7%
- Diamond Plus/$3,750/9%
There are three tiers based on annual rake paid. There are only two annual tiers in New Jersey. Both are nearly impossible to obtain.
Tier/Annual Rake Required/Rakeback Percent
- Seven Stars/$200,000/35%
A player that makes the Diamond tier in either Nevada or New Jersey for four months in a row can receive the same card at Total Rewards. That is the rewards program for Caesars Entertainment. This Diamond card includes access to the exclusive Diamond Lounge, an annual birthday meal, waiving of resort fees, and line passes.
Banking and Payment Options
WSOP.com accepts Visa, Mastercard, Neteller, PayPal, PayNearMe, electronic check, and cash at a casino cage as deposit options. Neteller and PayPal are ewallets. PayNearMe is a cash transfer service available at 7-11 convenience stores.
The casinos that accept cash payments in Nevada are Rio, Caesars Palace, Harrah’s, Paris, and Planet Hollywood, which are all located in Las Vegas. New Jersey cash deposits are processed at the Caesars casino cage in Atlantic City.
We were surprised to find that WSOP Casino offers PayPal as an option for deposits and withdrawals. This method means that it’s easy to process your financial transactions at the casino. One of the things that we were most impressed with is that the online casino doesn’t charge any additional fees for players wanting to use this payment method.
Players can cash out by check and electronic check. Accounts that deposit by Neteller and PayPal have the option available for withdrawal. Cash may be picked up at casino cages listed in the deposit section. Unfortunately, WSOP Casino doesn’t give you the ability to lock your withdrawals manually. However, this isn’t a problem as there’s not a reversal time frame, so you’re not actually able to reverse your withdrawal requests.
The time-frames it takes WSOP Casino’s finance team to process withdrawals can vary depending on the time of day you make your withdrawal request, along with whether it’s the weekend or not (yes, WSOP Casino does process withdrawals over the weekend). Generally, the team aims to process all withdrawals within 13-23 hours. This is pretty fast, especially for an online gambling website in the USA.
The time it takes for you to receive your winnings once WSOP Casino has processed your withdrawal request varies and will depend a lot on the payment method you choose to use. For example, if you use PayPal, you’ll receive your winnings almost immediately once WSOP Casino’s customer support team has processed your withdrawal. However, withdrawing back to debit and credit cards may take a few working days. So, it’s always worth being mindful of this before making a withdrawal.
WSOP Cash Games and Tournaments
WSOP Casino offers a large selection of cash games for you to enjoy – far more than any other US-licensed online poker room. The wide variety of choices ensures that players can easily and quickly find a game that suits them and is applicable to the amount of money you want to wager at the poker site.
As is the case with virtually every poker site in the world – including the US, of course – the most common type of cash game that you’ll find at WSOP Casino is Texas Hold’em. However, there’s also a variety of other cash-game poker types including Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, Stud and Stud Hi/Lo. Texas Hold ’em offers the greatest variety when it comes to action and stake size.
Another significant benefit of choosing to play Texas Hold’em at WSOP Casino is the simple fact that there’s a much higher number of players looking to play this type of cash game as opposed to other types. For example, there’s a huge amount of player traffic interested in Texas Hold’em. While there’s still a decent number of players looking to play other types of game types, there’s not as much action.
For example, when it comes to No-Limit Texas Hold’em, you’ll find that WSOP Casino offers a massive selection of tables, with table limits starting from as little as $0.01/$0.02. In fact, these tables allow you to buy in for as little as $2! On the other end of the scale, WSOP Casino offers tables with limits of up to $100/$200, with a minimum buy-in of $20,000. There are also many fixed-limit tables at WSOP Casino, although these typically don’t run as often as the no-limit tables since there’s not as much player interest.
The same kind of limits can generally be found for other types of cash games at WSOP Casino as well, like Omaha. However, these games don’t always run as frequently and tend to be best played on weekends or in the evening. In the daytime, the tables can be quite empty and you may find yourself sitting alone at a table – or playing heads-up – for hours until more players end up joining.
World Series of Poker Tournaments
As you’d expect from an online poker site the size of WSOP Casino, there’s a wide variety of different poker tournaments for players to enjoy. WSOP Casino clearly invests a significant amount of time, effort and money into making sure that these tournaments are accessible to as many players as possible. For example, you’ll find that there are tournaments offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with buy-ins ranging from a dollar or two to hundreds or even thousands of dollars!
Please be mindful that WSOP Casino is still a relatively new online poker site when compared with some of the industry’s more prominent names like PokerStars. As a result of this, the prize pools are typically worth less than you’d see at other major online poker websites. However, this doesn’t mean that the prize pools at WSOP Casino aren’t worth playing. For example, in one of the most recent tournaments they ran, they hosted four of the WSOP tournaments online, with prize pools for each event ranging from $500,000 to more than $1,000,000!
These are incredibly large amounts of money, and playing poker games at these stakes can generate life-changing payouts for those lucky enough to do well!
We should also point out that WSOP Casino, in addition to these major WSOP events, runs several smaller events – some of which are even freerolls, allowing you to enter and win real money without having to stake any of your cash!.
WSOP Casino is a fully licensed and legitimate online gambling operation, and this means that they’re held to many standards by their online gambling regulator. In this instance, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. One of the requirements of getting a license from this online gambling regulator is that licensees must be able to show that they’re taking all necessary steps to prevent underage gamblers from getting access to the site. WSOP Casino achieves this through the know your customer (KYC) checks.
Know your customer (KYC) checks are used in virtually all online casinos and poker rooms in the world, and these specialized checks are designed to verify both the age and the identity of the player involved. When you join WSOP Casino, you’ll likely be asked to complete a know your customer (KYC) check. Although like at many online casinos, you may not need to complete this check as soon as you join. Instead, WSOP Casino may ask you to complete a know your customer (KYC) check upon requesting your first withdrawal or once you’ve reached a certain threshold in terms of depositing funds.
If and when you are asked to complete one of these know your customer (KYC) checks, WSOP Casino will require you to upload documentation that shows your full name. You can usually use a Driver’s License or a Passport for this part of the know your customer (KYC) check. You will also be required to provide proof of your address – especially since WSOP Casino can only accept players from just a few states. This can be in the form of a utility bill or official government letter that shows your full name and address and must be dated within the last three months.
Once WSOP Casino receives the requested documents to carry out the know your customer (KYC) check, they aim to process your documents within 1-3 working days. As their customer support team works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, it’s likely that your documents will be reviewed in a shorter time frame than this. You shouldn’t have to wait around for too long to get your account verified.
WSOP Casino understands that, while gambling is a safe and pleasurable activity for the vast majority of people, some may find the amount they’re gambling online can spiral out of control. That’s why they’ve implemented various responsible gambling tools to help you maintain control of your online gambling 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The main responsible gambling tool available to players is the ability to set various limits. Players can set these limits at any time from within the ‘my account section. Once a player has set them up on their account, they cannot be changed until the time frame chosen before the limit was implemented has passed.
The most commonly-used responsible gambling limit is the deposit limit, which allows you to set a limit on the amount of money that you’re able to deposit into your WSOP Casino account on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. In addition to this, WSOP Casino also offers players the chance to set a play-time limit, a loss limit, and a buy-in limit.
For those who feel they have a significant problem with their levels of online gaming, WSOP Casino offers players the chance to enter into what is known as a cooling-off period. If you choose to use this responsible gambling feature, you can request a break between 1 and 5 months, during which you won’t be able to log into your WSOP account.
For those who want a more permanent solution, WSOP Casino offers you the chance to enter into a self-exclusion agreement. This allows you to completely block access to your WSOP Casino account for a minimum of 6 months.
About the Team and History
Nevada and Delaware announced an online poker partnership in February 2014. It was the first of its kind in the United States. Nevada and Delaware agreed to share player pools between the states. This agreement went live in March 2015. It does not include New Jersey.
It has been a bust for Delaware. The player pool averaged about 20 players and about $40,000 in rake per month before the agreement. These numbers have dropped by nearly half since the start. The number of players added to the Nevada network was so negligible it barely registered.
WSOP.com averages about 170 players and peaks around 400 daily in Nevada and New Jersey. It holds a 99% market share in Nevada and a 50% market share in New Jersey. The Borgata/Party Poker partnership holds the other half of the New Jersey market.
Complaints and Track Record
WSOP Casino has a pretty good reputation at Casinomeister. During the writing of this review, we were unable to find any significant complaints from players about the site. Looking around the web, it’s clear some players have experienced issues with WSOP Casino. However, this isn’t unusual for a site of their size; it’s generally expected, especially when you’re dealing with a site that offers a wide variety of bonuses and promotions.
We have no issues recommending WSOP Casino to our readers and don’t have any concerns about the experience you’re likely to get when playing there.
WSOP Casino offers all users customer support around the clock with a team available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This ensures you’re able to get the help you need quickly, should you run into any problems while playing at the site.
Whether you have questions about poker rewards, want to know how WSOP points work, want to know about available casino games, or have account-specific problems, the customer support team at WSOP Casino is happy to help. The easiest way to contact them is to use the live chat function.
This allows you to speak in real-time with a customer support team member directly from your internet browser. If you prefer, you can also reach the customer support team via email and phone, but we recommend using live chat as it ensures you’re connected instantly to an operator.

Games & Software
888 powers WSOP.com software in Nevada and New Jersey. 888 is the same company that operates the Delaware Lottery poker and casino network. The 888 brand is not used to market Delaware online gaming. The state’s three racinos – Delaware Park, Dover Down and Harrington Raceway – are used.
WSOP online New Jersey is an intrastate site. It shares player pools with 888 New Jersey. WSOP.com Nevada shares all cash games and most tournaments with Delaware.
WSOP.com Cash Games Available
WSOP online offers five different poker variants. Texas Hold’em is by far the most popular. It is available in no limit and fixed limit. Virtually all of the Texas Hold’em action is at no limit. There is also Pot Limit Omaha High and High/Low. Fixed limit Omaha High/Low is spread. Seven Card Stud and Seven Card Stud High/Low are in the software in the fixed limit format. Neither stud game is very popular. Cash games rake 5% in Nevada and 5.5% in New Jersey. The cap depends on the limit. The rake is higher in New Jersey because of the higher tax rate.
Sit and Gos
Sit and gos are available in several formats. All Texas Hold’em tournaments are spread as no limit. These games are available in 2, 6, 9 and 18 seats. The speeds are normal, turbo and super turbo. The rake is 9% for normal speed sit and gos, 8% for turbo and 7% for super turbo. Some No Limit Texas Hold’em sit and gos are satellites to multi table tournaments.
Pot Limit Omaha and Omaha High/Low are available as sit and gos. These events have six seats and run at normal speed. There are no other sit and go games spread.
Sit and go buy-in amounts are $1, $5, $10, $25, $50, $100 and $200. It is rare to find a sit and go running higher than $25 in either Nevada or New Jersey.

WSOP would be even more awesome if they could take on more states and if 888 Holdings didn’t have such a spotted past. But where else will you play if you want to play online poker?
Caveat: You need to carefully read the casinos’ terms and conditions to ensure that you can play there legally. In most US states, it’s +21. If you or anyone you know has a gambling problem, please call this free hotline – 800-GAMBLER. This gives disordered gamblers and their loved ones confidential assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
